Meet the Carson Team Behind DryMark Restoration Carson

We’re the crew that shows up when water’s still moving through your walls or smoke’s settled in your attic. Every person on this page has been background-checked, licensed, and verified before they ever pulled into a Carson driveway. What ties us together isn’t a handbook. It’s that we all treat your house like a claim that needs to hold up in documentation, not just look good on the surface. That’s The Haven Standard, and it’s how we’ve operated since 2011.

Our People

Alicia Brennan, Owner

I started Back to Dry in 2011 after six years as a claims adjuster watching homeowners lose tens of thousands because the restoration company didn’t document the job properly. The gap between what happened and what could be proven was costing people their settlements. So I built this company around the paperwork first, the drying second. I’m still on-site for the complex jobs, the ones where the insurance adjuster needs to walk the loss with someone who speaks their language. I keep a moisture meter in my truck and I use it. Outside of work, I restore vintage motorcycles, which is basically the same problem in reverse: figure out what got damaged, document every step, and make it run again.

Marcus T., Lead Water Technician

Marcus has been running extraction and drying crews for nine years, and he’s certified in Applied Structural Drying through the IICRC. He specializes in multi-story losses where water travels vertically through wall cavities, the kind of job where you need to map the migration with thermal imaging before you cut anything open. Marcus is the one who sets up the psychrometric chart on day one and checks it twice daily until the readings hit dry standard. He grew up in Compton, played offensive line at Dominguez High, and still coaches youth football on Saturdays when he’s not pulling a weekend drying shift. He’s got three daughters who think his dehumidifiers are “the loud robots.”

Daniela R., Senior Mold Remediation Installer

Daniela runs our containment builds and negative air setups, and she’s certified in Mold Remediation by the RIA with additional training in HVAC decontamination. She’s the person who decides whether a closet can be isolated or a whole room needs to be sealed under polyethylene, and she makes that call based on spore counts, not guesswork. Daniela came to us from a commercial abatement background, so she’s unusually careful about worker protection and cross-contamination protocols. She lives in Lakewood with two rescue pit bulls and a collection of vintage sci-fi paperbacks she reads during drying holds. Her first language is Spanish, and she’s often the one explaining the remediation timeline to families who are already stressed about displacement.

James K., Service Coordinator

James answers the phones and dispatches the crews, which means he’s the live voice you get at 2 a.m. when a pipe bursts in the Dominguez Hills area. He’s been with us four years and he’s trained to gather the information an adjuster will need before the truck even rolls: policy number, date of loss, category of water, square footage affected, and whether power is on at the site. That pre-documentation saves hours later. James grew up in Carson, knows the local streets well enough to route crews around Harbor Freeway backups, and has a running feud with Marcus about whether the Rams or Chargers are the real local team. He never puts anyone in voicemail. That’s Haven Standard, Clause 4: live answer, every call.

Devon W., Restoration Apprentice

Devon’s in his second year with us, working toward his IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician certification while he learns demolition, content manipulation, and the setup of our Dri-Eaz and Phoenix drying systems. He’s the one who takes the photo record on every visit, 80 to 120 images per job, each one timestamped and uploaded to the file before the crew leaves. That documentation habit is drilled in from day one here. Devon’s from Long Beach, went to Jordan High, and he’s surprisingly good at salvaging water-damaged books, a skill he picked up volunteering at a local library flood response. He’s usually the first to arrive and the last to leave, partly because he’s still learning and partly because he double-checks his work.

One Standard, Every Job

One Standard, Every Job

We’re independently owned and operated under The Haven Standard, which means Alicia’s founding rules apply whether we’re drying a single-family home off Avalon Boulevard or coordinating a multi-unit loss near Cal State Dominguez Hills. Haven Standard, Clause 1: written price before work begins, every time, with no exceptions. Clause 2: documented photo record on every visit, included standard, never an upsell. Clause 3: 365-Day Done Right Promise, signed and stamped, not mentioned and forgotten. Clause 4: live answer, no voicemail, 24 hours a day. These aren’t marketing lines. They’re the operational checklist we run on every job, and every person on this page is accountable to it. If you bring us a competitor’s written estimate, we’ll review it free under our Second Opinion policy. If we don’t document it, it didn’t happen. That’s the standard we built this company on in 2011, and it’s the standard we’ll bring to your door.
